History
The Vale Sagrado Symphony and Choir was born from the dream of our founder, Mtro. Francisco Álvarez Évora, with the experience of the Singing Children of Villa de Cura (Venezuela) and the System of Orchestras of Venezuela, creating in Urubamba the first Social Action Center where music is the fundamental axis of action.
On March 15, the first group of children begins to be received, who excitedly build their instruments with recycled material, giving rise to the “My First Orchestra” program, as well as the Children's Choir and the teaching of Musical Language.
The Sacred Valley Symphony and Choir is a work dedicated to the social transformation of children and young people in the province of Urubamba, open to all, and with special emphasis on the less favored population.
Comprehensive education is currently provided, in values and musical training, with different classes such as Violin, viola, cello, guitar, Children's and Youth Choir, My First Orchestra, Violin Initiation, Children's Symphony Orchestra and Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Mission
It constitutes a social work that seeks to integrate children and young people, their families and their communities, using music as a tool for social transformation, with the ultimate goal of promoting structural changes that contribute to the eradication of poverty and equal opportunities.
We seek to transform material poverty with spiritual wealth, empowerment, confidence, self-esteem and development of the capacities of the children and youth of the Sacred Valley. Intercultural integration and the preservation and safeguarding of culture as a heritage of humanity, guaranteeing the right of people to participate in cultural life.
Vision
Promote the strengthening of the individual and collective capacities of children and young people, their families and communities so that they are leading actors in the integral transformation of society.
Offer spaces for teaching and musical practice in every corner of the Sacred Valley, achieving a great transformative musical movement for the lives of children and youth, becoming Leaders of change.
Promote the safeguarding of the cultural heritage of the Sacred Valley, being custodians and spokespersons of the cultural wealth of the Region.
